Neligh-Oakdale sophomore Bryce Frey won his second state championship Saturday, advancing to the national competition for Future Business Leaders of America for the second straight year.
Frey earned first place in Intro To Business, a category for freshmen and sophomores, which is the same division he won last year. He also received honorable mention in Accounting I and fifth place in Business Math.
Kelsey Green, also a sophomore, received honorable mention in Spelling.
Last year, Frey became the first student in school history to win a state championship in FBLA and the first since 2009 to qualify for nationals.
The 15-year-old said he was excited to win again and said, "I am surprised that I managed to become a two-time state champion."
Frey, the son of Brian and Leann Frey, said he's looking forward to returning to nationals. The FBLA National Leadership Conference will be June 29-July 2 in Nashville.
