Families throughout Antelope County count their blessings each Christmas season as they look back at all they have been given.
It is also a season that many individuals give back to those in need. The Neligh-Oakdale FCCLA Chapter have made sure that giving back is easy to do each year. Spending hours cuttings ribbons and decorating trees in the local banks, the members of the chapter dedicate their time to make the Red Ribbon Tree possible.
“We really don’t get to see the people reacting to opening their presents. But, it’s just fun to see how many different people there are and what they want for Christmas, and just how little they do ask for,” said FCCLA president Kendall Wiseman.
Donating gifts to people of all ages in need, individuals from around the county grabbed a ribbon in hopes to bring joy to another’s Christmas. The program has been running since 1985 and will continue on spreading Christmas cheer.
