Education is key to success! Often, when we mention education we think only about High School or College. Continuing your education and furthering your knowledge base is crucial to your development whether you are 10 or 90.
Four Neligh book keepers recently took part in a QuickBooks training held at the Neligh Library. The training is part of the Chamber and Economic Development’s commitment to make it easier for businesses in Neligh to reinvest in themselves and employees.
“We want to encourage Neligh’s businesses to better themselves. This training was a step in the right direction. We’re in the process of setting up other trainings,” said Greg Ptacek, Director of Economic Development.
The QuickBooks training was a partnership between the Neligh Chamber, Economic Development, and Northeast Community College’s Center for Enterprise. It was taught by an instructor from Northeast. Ptacek said those in attendance were anywhere from somewhat skilled at QuickBooks to a complete "newbie!"
Responses were very favorable: “I wasn’t familiar with QuickBooks, now I feel fairly comfortable!” “I’ve really learned a lot of the little tricks that I didn’t know existed before.” While those in attendance feel more comfortable with QuickBooks, none were comfortable enough to say they were the "Mr. Miyagi of QuickBooks," he said.
A QuickBooks 2 class is slated for late June (TBA). “We had a huge interest in holding a QuickBooks 2 class and are eager to get that set up. Stay tuned for more information.”
