Outstanding service in both the Neligh community and business community were recognized Saturday night.
Terry Jensen, Rich Burgess and Steve Simonsen were honored at the annual Neligh Chamber of Commerce banquet.
Jensen received the lifetime achievement award for his 40 years of service in the Neligh business community. Jensen plans to officially retire as a dentist in Neligh in September.
Burgess was given the Outstanding Citizen of the Year award thanks to contributions to the community in various capacities, including his extensive assistance with the Antelope County Ag & Home Expo.
Simonsen was recognized as the Chamber Member of the Year member and thanked for his many contributions to not only the Chamber, but to the entire community. Among his most recognizable efforts was Novemberfest, a wine and beer event he has spearheaded the last two years.
The Chamber banquet was hosted at Sly's Chill and Grill and wrapped up “Chamber Week.” The evening concluded a week of activities that included the second annual Antelope County Ag and Show Expo.
