A Neligh teen will be traveling to Hawaii June 21-28 to sing with with "the best of the best" as part of Honor Choir USA.
Celina Knievel, who will be a senior at Neligh-Oakdale High School this fall, is eligible for the trip since she was selected for All-State Chorus as a junior.
Knievel said her choir director, Nate Metschke, informed her about the trip a few months ago, and she was really excited about the possibility.
"I said, 'Mom, I have to go,'" she said. "I will have the opportunity to surf, hike, and parasail. It just sounds amazing!"
Knievel said the group will fly into Honolulu and travel to different sites in that area for their performances. They will sing at several locations, including Pearl Harbor and St. Andrew's Cathedral. Their concerts will feature selections such as "Alleluia," "Homeland" and "America."
"I can't wait," Knievel said. "I got to go to Europe last year and Hawaii this year. I'm just so thankful. It's gonna be awesome!"
