The community, including Neligh-Oakdale alumni in town for Saturday's banquet, are encouraged to attend a benefit breakfast and silent auction for Brie Schrader Epke.
Epke, the daughter of Tom and Mary Schrader of Neligh, is recovering from a stroke and breast cancer. She and her husband, Brian, reside in Wichita, Kan. with their two sons, Brody and Brock. Epke is a 1998 graduate of Neligh-Oakdale.
The breakfast will be at the Antelope County Ag Society Building from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. French toast will be served.
Over 50 items have been donated for the silent auction, including Husker football tickets, tool sets, Henry Doorly Zoo tickets, concert tickets, Omaha and Lincoln hotel nights and more. Bidding will incrementally close between noon and 12:30 p.m.
There will be raffle drawings for an Apple watch and children's Case IH pedal tractor and wagon.
Tickets will also be available for purchase for the Golden State Warriors Getaway, which includes airfare and hotel accommodations to San Francisco and two floor seats to a 2016-17 Golden State game.
