The new Antelope County Museum "is definitely still a work in progress," but will be open this weekend with free admission, according to Ruth Strassler.
This weekend only, September 26, 27 and 28, the hours will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The museum is located on the corner of Hwy. 275 and 5th St. in Neligh.
A featured exhibit is that of White Buffalo Girl, which has her story, and the painting and papoose board which were given by the Ponca and Omaha tribes to thank Neligh citizens for caring for her grave for 134 years.
Also on display will be the wooden windmill from the late 1800s and some of Harold Ritter's fine folk art carvings.
