On Wednesday, November 19th, "Diabetes Management" will be presented by Roger Baird of South Dakota at 6:00 p.m. at the Neligh American Legion.
The presentation will focus on the management of diabetes and its challenges. It's sponsored by Antelope Memorial Hospital's Diabetes Education Department. There is no cost to attend; the general public is invited.
Roger Baird is a diabetic patient. He takes insulin as part of his overall treatment plan that includes, diet, exercise and other medications. Mr. Baird knows first-hand the challenges of managing diabetes and understands the concerns about taking insulin, said Carol Anderson, APRN and director of the AMH Diabetes Education Dept. He will share his story from a heart-felt perspective.
At 6 p.m., a healthy meal will be served prior to the program scheduled for 7 p.m.. A mini-health fair to include blood pressure, foot, skin and on-site glucose checks will be offered.
