A winter weather advisory will go into effect at 2 p.m. Friday as a winter storm moves through the area, dropping 3-5 inches of snow in Antelope County.
The National Weather Service in Omaha issued the advisory until 4 a.m. Saturday. Snow is expected to begin in the early afternoon as it spreads in from the southwest. Although isolated 5 inch amounts are possible, the total snowfall of 3-4 inches will be common.
North winds of 10-20 mph will accompany this storm, causing minor blowing and drifting. A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow will cause primary travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities. Use caution while driving.
