Nearly two dozen students from Neligh-Oakdale performed at the 13th annual Pierce Honor Band on Saturday.
No other schools from Antelope County participated.
According to band director Nate Metschke, 21 Neligh-Oakdale students in grades 6-9 were selected for the honor.
Those students were the following:
6-7 Grades: Renee Dick, flute; Emma Bixler, clarinet; Sierra Centamore, clarinet; Angelica Volquardsen, clarinet; Kenzi Tschirren, alto sax; Shelby Pitzer, alto sax; Matthew Feusse, trumpet; Nadia Peinke, trombone; Brooke Knievel, trombone; Hailey Bixler, percussion.
8-9 Grades: Celina Knievel, flute; Calli Wilkinson, flute; Alexis Jensen, flute; Andrew Sanderson, tenor sax; Brittany McConnell, alto sax; Wynter Fulsaas, alto sax; Marty Beyer, trumpet; Zia Moore, French horn; Nikki Grosserode, trombone; Jayda Chance, trombone; Haley Kerkman, tuba.
Marty Antholz of Elkhorn directed the sixth- and seventh-grade band, and Dr. Rolf Olson directed the eighth- and ninth-grade band.
Schools participating were Neligh-Oakdale, Wayne, Winside, Christ Lutheran, O'Neill, Stanton, Pierce, Creighton, Norfolk, Pender, Plainview, Norfolk Catholic and Osmond.
