Due to a company expansion, the media division of Pitzer Digital has multiple openings with its news team. The company is seeking a managing editor, along with news and sports reporters. Qualified applicants are encouraged to immediately send applications to fill these positions.
Pitzer Digital is a marketing and media firm that owns the Antelope County News, Knox County News, Holt County News and Boone County News, all in Northeast Nebraska. All open positions are full time.
As the managing editor, the successful candidate must be organized, have strong social skills, be knowledgable with Adobe Suite, be comfortable in breaking news situations and offer experience in all social media formats. This individual will be on camera in both live and recorded video often and must be comfortable with public speaking. A journalism degree is preferred, along with at least one year of experience at a weekly, daily or online publication.
The news and sports positions will include writing, photography and pagination. The successful candidates must be savy in social media and have strong computer skills. Experience in Adobe Suite is preferred. The candidates must have excellent communication and writing skills, as well as being comfortable on live video and social media. The positions include an average of two evening assignments per week and require flexible schedules.
Besides its online media, Pitzer Digital owns two newspapers — Antelope County News/Orchard News (ACN) and the Bloomfield Monitor/Knox County News (KCN). The ACN is the fastest growing weekly community newspaper and was a finalist for the Nebraska Press Association Best Newspaper sweepstakes last year. The ACN remains committed to an online-first mentality that has made it one of the most popular media in all of Northeast Nebraska.
