A 16-year-old from South Dakota has died following a one-vehicle rollover north of Neligh on Monday morning.
According to the Antelope County Sheriff's Department, a 911 call was received at 6:02 a.m. of a rollover on Highway 14 south of 860th Road. The vehicle, a beige 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, was traveling northbound on Highway 14 when it left the roadway, skidding toward the west ditch.
The vehicle then entered into a roll and struck a large tree, causing the lone occupant to be ejected from the vehicle. The driver succumbed to life-threatening injuries after being flown to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk by Life Net.
Responding to the accident were the Neligh Fire Department, Neligh-Oakdale Jaws of Life, Neligh Rescue and Brunswick Fire Department.
The accident is being investigated by the Antelope County Sheriff's Department with assistance of the Neligh Police Department and Nebraska State Patrol.
